           Christopher Craft是美国印第安那大学湿地实验室教授,著名湿地生态学家,在湿地生态恢复与重建🤹🏼、湿地与全球变化、湿地水质净化,湿地碳汇等多个领域有研究贡献,作为负责人之一,领衔美国长期生态系统研究项目(LTER) SaltEx。曾任国际湿地科学家学会(SWS)主席、美国土壤学会湿地土壤专业委员会主任等,以及WetlandsSoil Science   Society of America Journal🧎‍♂️‍➡️, Journal of Wetland Biogeochemistry🤸‍♀️,Ecological Engineering等国际学术期刊的编委⚒、副主编🧛🏼、主编。


    报告内容:

    In the SaltEx project, we experimentally   exposed a tidal freshwater marsh to chronic (Press) and acute (Pulse)   saltwater intrusion to simulate the effects of sea level rise on plant  communities and ecosystem processes. Replicate (n=6 per treatment) 2.5 m by   2.5 m plots were dosed 4 times a week for four years with a mixture of   seawater and fresh river water (15 psu salinity) to simulate the effects of   long-term sea level rise (Press plots). Pulse plots received brackish water   four times a week annually for four years during typical low flow conditions   (September and October) to simulate the effects of drought. Separate   replicate plots were dosed with fresh river water (Fresh treatment) to   simulate the effects of submergence.

    This presentation will show major results from   the four year long experiment, including responses of nutrients, plant   species composition, biomass, green house gases, benthic algae, and surface   elevation, to elevated salinity with different doses.
